Delaney Dyer, President

I am a second-year master’s student in the Viticulture and Enology program at UC Davis, and I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. I earned my bachelor’s degree in chemistry and business from the University of Texas at Austin, and my path into wine began through undergraduate research focused on challenges facing the Texas wine industry. That experience eventually led me out of the lab and into my first harvest in the Texas Hill Country, where I fell in love with the combination of science and art behind winemaking. I saw an opportunity to bring my chemistry background into a career grounded in creativity and community, which ultimately led me to California and the V&E department at UC Davis! I was drawn to Women+ in Wine because it gives students opportunities to build meaningful relationships with one another and connect with women throughout the industry. As president, I’m excited to expand these opportunities and help our students feel supported as they begin their careers in wine! When I'm not in class or working in the lab, I love going to concerts! I also play the flute and have been performing in ensembles for over ten years!

Alex Evnin, Vice President

Hi! I’m Alex, a second-year M.S. student in Viticulture and Enology and the Vice President of Women in Wine. Before coming to UC Davis, I worked across wine production, sales, retail, and hospitality. I joined Women in Wine+ because I wanted to help build a strong, supportive community for women+ across all areas of the industry and create opportunities for us to learn from one another. Fun fact! I love cycling and spend a lot of my free time exploring NorCal by bike!

Holley Kline, Treasurer

Hi! My name is Holley, and I am a fourth year undergraduate studying Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis. My hands-on experience spans working in enological chemistry labs and getting my hands dirty during harvest operations, from field harvesting to managing primary fermentations. I joined Women+ in Wine to build strong community connections and support diverse leadership within the industry. I’m thrilled to serve as Treasurer this year so we can have impactful events and fun opportunities for our members. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, traveling, and baking!

Alexandra Leite, Secretary

Hi!! I'm Alex and I'm a 4th year undergraduate pursuing a B.S. in Viticulture and Enology! I’m originally from Connecticut so I made sure to join clubs and orgs when I first got to Davis. I got introduced to Women+ in Wine from one of the girls in my sorority when I was a freshman and I enjoyed it so much I knew I wanted to serve on the board! I’m looking forward to a great year filled with fun events and opportunities!!

I’m a 3rd year PhD student studying medieval and early modern literature in the English department. I joined W+iW because I realized that wine lovers tend to love a good story, too. I’m interested in the history of wine and how women continue to inspire and contribute to the industry.

Stella Hawkins, Co-Social Media Coordinator

Hello! I’m Stella Hawkins, a 4th year in the viticulture and enology department. I have worked two harvests at the UC Davis teaching and research winery and I joined women+ in wine to help facilitate a strong support system for the new members of our department. Outside of school my hobbies consist of dancing, embroidering, and enjoying the outdoors!

Angela Jooste, Historian

Hi! I’m a third-year Viticulture and Enology major. I was born in South Africa but grew up in San Diego. Between working in a tasting room during high school and completing two harvests I’ve realized just how much the wine world relies on making good connections. I joined Women+ in Wine because I think having a community where women genuinely support each other is crucial, and I love being part of such a great group here. Outside of V&E, I’m either playing tennis, on a hike, or cooking.
